Most visitors find us on foot from the Cape Quarter, from Somerset Road’s hotels, or on the way back from the V&A Waterfront, which is a 20-minute walk down Somerset Road.
Inside, it works like any good café. Order a flat white, a glass of Cape wine or a local beer, and ask the team anything about the menu. Our members’ counter carries indoor hydroponic flower from 1g to 10g, pre-rolled 1g joints, 96% THC Awaken vapes, and our own gummies in 5mg, 10mg, 20mg and 50mg doses. Is this legal? Yes, and here is how
Since the 2018 Constitutional Court ruling and the Cannabis for Private Purposes Act of 2024, adults in South Africa may possess and use cannabis in private. Dixie Jane is a non-profit private cannabis collective: members collectively own the crop, and what you pay covers cultivation, production and delivery.
Two rules matter for a visitor: you must be 18 or older, and consumption is legal in private only. Your apartment or hotel room is fine; the beach, the promenade, restaurants and the street are not. Our store is a café, not a smoking venue. Read the full legal explainer.

Chiappini Street is a five-minute walk from the Cape Quarter and about 20 minutes on foot from the V&A Waterfront along Somerset Road. Street parking on Chiappini and Waterkant Streets, or the Cape Quarter parking garage two blocks away.
No. Visitors join with a passport number. It takes about a minute during checkout, online or at the counter in De Waterkant.
Orders arrive in plain packaging with no product names visible, carried by a standard Uber Direct courier. Hand-over is to you personally; hotel reception can receive it if you prefer and your hotel allows.
A 5mg Grapefruit Glow gummy (5mg THC with 5mg CBD) or half of a 10mg Blueberry Buzz gummy is the gentlest start. Wait at least 90 minutes before taking more. If you prefer to smoke, a 1g sativa pre-roll shared between two people is a light introduction.
