De Waterkant sits where the City Bowl meets the Atlantic Seaboard, which makes Dixie Jane the closest cannabis dispensary to the whole downtown grid. From Bree Street it is a twelve-minute walk; from Kloof Street or Tamboerskloof it is a short Uber. Many City Bowl visitors do visit: the café is a good stop between the Bo-Kaap and the Cape Quarter, with coffee in the morning and happy hour every afternoon from 15:00 to 18:00.
For everyone else there is delivery. Order online, join at checkout, and Uber Direct brings it to your apartment or guesthouse in discreet packaging. Since the 2018 Constitutional Court ruling and the Cannabis for Private Purposes Act of 2024, adults in South Africa may possess and use cannabis in private. Dixie Jane is a non-profit private cannabis collective: members collectively own the crop, and what you pay covers cultivation, production and delivery.
