It is also where a good part of our local membership lives. De Waterkant is a straight run along the N1 or Nelson Mandela Boulevard, and Uber Direct covers it in 20 to 35 minutes.
Orders confirmed before 21:45 Monday to Saturday, or 15:45 on Sunday, go out immediately; anything later leaves at 08:00 the next day. If you prefer to see the range in person, the café at 40 Chiappini Street is a 12-minute drive with coffee, wine, beer and happy hour from 15:00 to 18:00. Since the 2018 Constitutional Court ruling and the Cannabis for Private Purposes Act of 2024, adults in South Africa may possess and use cannabis in private. Dixie Jane is a non-profit private cannabis collective: members collectively own the crop, and what you pay covers cultivation, production and delivery.
Two rules matter for a visitor: you must be 18 or older, and consumption is legal in private only. Your apartment or hotel room is fine; the beach, the promenade, restaurants and the street are not. Our store is a café, not a smoking venue. Read the full legal explainer.

Yes. Woodstock, Salt River and Observatory are 10 to 15 minutes from De Waterkant along the N1 or Albert Road, so Uber Direct usually arrives in 20 to 35 minutes. Add the building or studio name; many Woodstock addresses are converted warehouses with shared entrances.
Not yet. De Waterkant is our only café and members’ counter, and most Obs and Woodstock members simply order delivery. If you’d like to collect, the store is a 12-minute drive or one MyCiTi trip away, open until 22:00 Monday to Saturday.
No. Visitors join with a passport number. It takes about a minute during checkout, online or at the counter in De Waterkant.
Orders arrive in plain packaging with no product names visible, carried by a standard Uber Direct courier. Hand-over is to you personally; hotel reception can receive it if you prefer and your hotel allows.
A 5mg Grapefruit Glow gummy (5mg THC with 5mg CBD) or half of a 10mg Blueberry Buzz gummy is the gentlest start. Wait at least 90 minutes before taking more. If you prefer to smoke, a 1g sativa pre-roll shared between two people is a light introduction.
